By: XTU Staff

Multiple sources have reported that legendary country music singer, Glen Campbell, has died at the age of 81. Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and legendary singer and guitarist, Glen Travis Campbell, at the age of 81, following his long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease,” a statement on Campbell’s website reads. “In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Glen Campbell Memorial Fund at BrightFocus Foundation through the CareLiving.org donation page.”

During his career, Campbell released more than 70 albums over his 50 year career and is best known for this single “Rhinestone Cowboy”.

He is survived by his wife Kim Campbell and his eight children.
