The 27-year-old artist told The Advocate he has reached out to a “bunch” of his artist friends seeking advice on how to be a parent. One of the artists he reached out to was none other than the two-time reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Jason Aldean.

“I texted Jason Aldean the other day and said, ‘How do you ever leave the house and not feel guilty?'” Rhett said.

What Aldean wrote back was according to Rhett the “best piece of advice” he has received thus far.

“[Aldean] said that feeling never really goes away, but that when you leave the house now, you get on the bus for a different purpose,” Rhett shared. “Before you had kids, it was all about going out there and trying to win at awards shows and sell as many tickets as possible and trying to have multi-week no. 1 (singles). After you have kids, you still want those things. But at the forefront of your brain is, ‘How can I give my child the best life humanly possible?'”

A father of two young daughters, Aldean knows what he is talking about when it comes to parenting. He will have to rely on this knowledge and wisdom again soon as he and his wife Brittany revealed in May they are expecting a baby boy, this first child together.
