Earlier this month Thomas Rhett won big at the ACM Awards, so of course his father Rhett Akins had to get him something special.
On Tuesday (April 18), Rhett’s father Rhett Akins wrote on social media “What do you get your son who just won ACM Song of the Year and Male Vocalist? A 1940 [Martin] D-18. Many hits to be written on this!”
The gift obviously was special to the 27-year-old country artist. He shared a photo of him and his father playing the guitar together. “What a gift. Dad got me a 1940 [Martin] D-18 and himself a 1941 [Martin] D-18.”
Rhett will bring all of his musical equipment with him when he performs at the 33rd 92.5 XTU Anniversary Show this June. The show will take place at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey.
