The 52nd ACM Awards will be all about Keith Urban, as he leads all artists with seven nominations. Most of those nominations stem from his album Ripcord which Urban said he “didn’t expect the album to have the impact it has.”
“The reaction to the album has been crazy” Urban told Razz on the Radio of 92.5 XTU. He added he has been “blown away” by the success the album has had.
An Entertainer of the Year nominee, Urban revealed he believes his dad, who passed away during the completion of Ripcord, has had a hand in its success. Urban said his father’s spirit really “permeates this record.”
Along with being up for most of the night’s biggest awards, Urban will also take to the ACM stage to perform a duet with his fellow Entertainer of the Year nominee Carrie Underwood.
The 52nd ACM Awards will air live Sunday, April 2 on CBS3.
