Thomas Rhett has “always wanted to be nominated” for Song of the Year and at the 52nd ACM Awards, his dream has come true.

A songwriter at heart, the Song of the Year category is special to Rhett because it honors the writers who are behind the songs. At the 52nd ACM Awards, his chart-topping single “Die A Happy Man” will go head-to-head with some of the biggest songs in country music for the award.

Rhett’s big year has been recognized by the Academy of Country Music as he is also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year.

During the awards show, Rhett will perform his latest single “Craving You,” which debuted on Friday (March 31) with Maren Morris. Rhett told 92.5 XTU’s Razz on the Radio that he originally didn’t write the song to be a duet, but after it was suggested to him that it should be, he knew right away Morris was the one who had to be featured.

After the ACM Awards, Rhett’s big year will continue. In June he will join 92.5 XTU at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey where he will headline the 33rd annual 92.5 XTU Anniversary Show.
