Oh man. A new Garth Brooks live album could be on the way!
While Garth Brooks may still be on his current world tour, that doesn’t mean he isn’t thinking about future projects. When asked if a new live album could be in the works, Brooks told Billboard “I think we’re well on our way.”
“I’ll give you a little hint” Brooks said. “Try to remember that 20-something years ago, the [1996-98 world] tour was coming to an end, so we released this thing called Double Live. Tour’s coming to an end now.”
Double Live was released back in November of 1998 after Brooks had finished up his over two-year long world tour. The two-disc album, which contained recordings from the tour, was Brooks’ first live album. Since its release almost twenty years ago, Double Live has been certified diamond and is one of the best-selling country albums of all-time.
Brooks’s current world tour with wife Trisha Yearwood is currently scheduled to run through the early part of May, although knowing Brooks dates could still be added. So, as there is no concrete date as to when the tour will come to an end, there is also no word on when exactly the country legend’s possible new live album will be released.
Let’s just hope that for our sake and the sake of country music fans everywhere it is sooner rather than later!
