Thomas Rhett continues to expand his Home Team brand.
The “Star of the Show” artist, along with his longtime manager Virginia Davis and his songwriting father Rhett Akins have partnered with rapper Jay Z’s Roc Nation to launch a new publishing company known as Home Team Publishing.
“Songwriting has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember” Rhett said in a press release.
“I was a songwriter before I was an artist and I was lucky enough to find a team that believed in me really early on. Songwriting is the foundation for my artist career, so I’m excited and honored to be able to invest in the future of the songwriting community.”
Home Team Publishing’s first investment will be Eric Olson. Olson has worked in the past with Kelly Clarkson, for who he co-wrote and co-produced “Catch My Breath.” Olson has also worked with country artists such as Chris Lane and Lauren Alaina.
The new publishing company may be ran by Rhett, but his personal publishing will not be a part of it. Rather it will stay with his long-standing publisher EMI/SONY.
While it was founded by legendary rapper Jay Z, Roc Nation does have a history with country music. In 2016, the company opened an office in Nashville.
This latest venture for Rhett is just one of the many big career milestones he has accomplished as of late. The 26-year-old artist will perform at the 33rd annual 92.5 XTU Anniversary Show on June 3!
