Maren Morris, Jon Pardi and Brothers Osborne are all among the early winners at the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards.
On Tuesday (March 14), the Academy announced the first three winners at this year’s ACM Awards. Maren Morris was named New Female Vocalist of the Year, while Jon Pardi was named New Male Vocalist of the Year and Brothers Osborne were named New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year.
For Morris, she beat out Lauren Alaina, Cam and Brandy Clark for the award. The 26-year-old singer’s night at the ACMs could still be a big one as she is also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year and Single Record of the Year (“My Church”).
Pardi’s win of the New Male Vocalist award is sure to be special for the artist. Not only was it his first ACM Award, but it was also the first nomination he has ever received at the awards show. In the New Male Vocalist category, Pardi beat out a number of talented artists like Kane Brown, Chris Janson, Chris Lane and Brett Young.
For Brothers Osborne, second time’s a charm. After losing out on Best New Vocal Duo or Group last year to Old Dominion, they redeemed themselves this year by beating out the likes of A Thousand Horse, Dan + Shay, LOCASH and Maddie and Tae for the award. At the upcoming ACMs, they will also be competing for Vocal Duo of the Year against Big and Rich, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line and Maddie and Tae.
The amount of love we're feeling from our dear friends in the country music community is indescribable. Thanks to each and everyone of you for this and for always encouraging us to stay the course. We will never, for the rest of our lives, take these moments for granted. God bless y'all and God bless country music!
Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley will return as hosts for the 52nd ACM Awards. They will air live Sunday, April 2 only on CBS3.
