Eric Church’s son Boone may only be five-years-old, but he already knows how to hustle his superstar father. While helping out on tour, Boone went to Church to tell him he didn’t really like his job. Church said in a recent interview that his son didn’t like that his job was “boring” and the fact he didn’t get paid.

Church said his son’s original asking price was $4,000 a show, to which the country superstar countered with an offer a $1 per show. Eventually the father-son duo agreed on per show price of $10..

“He let me negotiate and we agree on $10 a show and I shake his hand and I’m thinking ‘Good God I just got hustled'” Church said.

Boone’s job while on tour with his father is to wrangle the choir that Church uses each show. While in town back in January, Church used the choir from Franklin Learning Center in Philadelphia.

Church may have gotten hustled by his young son, but as Mr. Misunderstood said himself “it was a fun little moment.” We are sure there will be plenty more of these moments in both Church and Boone’s future.t?’ [laughs] I thought, ‘You’ve got to be kidding,’ you know? But it was just a fun little moment that he hustled me,” Church explained.
