Kelsea Ballerini has become just the latest country artist confirmed for Sunday’s (February 12) Grammy Awards.
On Monday (February 6), the Recording Academy announced that the 23-year-old country singer will perform during music’s biggest night.
Of course, the first-time Grammy nominee took to social media to react to the news. “And just like that, it gets even more real. See you Sunday!” Ballerini wrote on Twitter. “Mom, put your dancin’ shoes on and tissues in your clutch…it’s happening.”
Monday was a big day for Ballerini, as not only was it announced that she would perform at the Grammy Awards, but she also had the chance to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Ballerini shined under the lights of late night as she performed her latest single “Yeah Boy.”
At Sunday’s Grammy Awards, Ballerini will be nominated for Best New Artist. She will go up against fellow country singer Maren Morris, as well as The Chainsmokers, Chance the Rapper and Anderson .Paak.
Other country artists already announced as performers include Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Maren Morris and Sturgill Simpson.
The 59th annual Grammy Awards will air live on Sunday, February 12 only on CBS.
