The follow-up to Kelsea Ballerini’s debut album The First Time is set to be a lot different.
In a recent interview with CMT.com, Ballerini said that her album will have a different sound than her debut album. “I know it’s going to be a lot bolder” she said. “A lot lighter and a lot darker from the first one.”
In order to get the album finished, the 23-year-old country singer decided to take a step away from social media. She said that it was “good to kind of step away” so that her head wasn’t cloudy while she finished it.
As for when the album will be done, Ballerini revealed that it will be done before she heads to this year’s Grammy Award, where she is nominated for Best New Artist. “It’s all I’ve been doing this last week because the second that I step on the plane to go to the Grammys, I have to be done with my album.”
The “Peter Pan” singer gave no word on when the album will be released, so we will just have to sit back and wait.
2017 will be a big year for Ballerini. Not only will she be done working on her sophomore album, but she will also be a part of two major tours. First she will join Thomas Rhett as part of his Home Team Tour before she then joins Lady Antebellum for their You Look Good Tour.
