The “Peter Pan” singer was named to Forbes’ annual 30 Under 30 list on Tuesday (January 3), which honors today’s leading young change-makers and innovators in the United States. Ballerini (23), was a part of the 30 honorees who were named in the music category.
Ballerini was not the only young country artist to be recognized for their work. 21-year-olds Maddie and Tae were also named to this exclusive list.
The class of 2017 is the sixth 30 Under 30 class to be recognized by Forbes. This year, there were more than 15,000 nominees for only 600 spots (30 honorees in 20 categories). With just a four percent acceptance rate, making this list is actually harder than being accepted into the country’s two most selective universities, Stanford (4.8% acceptance rate) and Harvard (5.2 percent acceptance rate).
Other celebrities who were named to this year’s class include actresses Margot Robbie and Hilary Duff, reality television star Kylie Jenner, Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, professional hockey player Patrick Kane and professional football players Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller.
