Some lucky fans got the opportunity of a lifetime to see Darius Rucker in a private Q&A session at the 31st Anniversary Show.

It was a first for our Listeners to get this close at the XTU Anniversary Show. Everyone had their phones ready for pictures and their questions ready to ask.

One of the first questions asked was what Darius thought about the changes of Country Music over the past few decades and how he feels about it.

“..it’s not just one thing, it’s always been life stories about everyday and what we do,” Darius replied. “…everybody is trying to pigeon hole country, and you can’t. There are a lot of different styles.”

Rucker added that he loves the twang in country music and when asked which song is his favorite he told the crowd, “these songs are like my children, I can’t pick just one. I love them all.”

Everyone was having a good time joking and asking Darius questions even the one question Andie Summers was afraid to ask so she had to have a fan ask it for her. “Wolverine or Captain America” to which Darius replied “Oh Wolverine.” This referring to his favorite superhero and also could tell us what underwear he was wearing.

One question that caught Darius by surprise was by a fan in the crowd that handed him an invitation to her Sweet 16 Birthday. “If I’m in town, I’ll come,” Darius told her.

Robin from Wilmington asked what Darius’s favorite song is to sing.

“I don’t really have a favorite song because they’re like my kids…it’s hard to pick which ones is my favorite. I’m just glad people still listen to the songs I write,” Darius replied.

Ever wonder what Darius feels or goes through his head when he’s performing?

“I’ve been doing this for thirty year,” Darius said to the crowd. “We were going on stage last night…and I was standing in front of the microphone and the curtains open up and I started giggling…watching people singing along and watching people enjoying…it’s all I ever wanted.”

Another guest asked Darius if he is a fan of Bob Dylan. Darius said he certainly is and would welcome the opportunity to collaborate together.

After the show Rucker answered more fan question on Twitter, including the oh-so Philly cheesesteak one:
